Richmond is a vibrant suburb of Melbourne that offers a variety of scenic running routes. Having our clinic at the Yarra River end of Bridge Road provides ample opportunity to go exploring. Here are three top running paths to explore in and around our clinic located in the 3121 Richmond postcode:

1. Yarra River Trail

This picturesque trail runs alongside the Yarra River, providing runners with serene water views and lush greenery. The trail can be entered right by our clinic and extends both eastward towards Abbotsford and westward towards the Melbourne CBD. The flat terrain and well-maintained paths make it ideal for both beginners and seasoned runners to take on varying lengths of out and back efforts. Yarra Blvd which runs alongside the trail is also great for those who want to cycle a few kilometres, including with the family.

2. Studley Park Boathouse

Just north of Richmond lies Studley Park. From Richmond, you can get here via Yarra Blvd (nice running) which provides a nice loop along the Yarra River if you turn left after crossing the Walmer Street Bridge (this bridge is easily accessed by heading north along the Yarra River Trail from our clinic). You can also take the short (but steep) way, straight up Walmer Street and carefully across Studley Park Drive and down into a short downhill trail to get to the boathouse.

Once at the historic Studley Park Boathouse, you can follow trails that wind through bushland and along the Yarra River. This is such a beautiful area and offers a refreshing escape from urban running.

3. Citizens Park Circuit

Situated in the heart of Richmond, Citizens Park provides a convenient running spot for accumulating laps (fast or slow) on a nice oval. The perimeter path around the park is also approximately 1 kilometre if you want to run some longer laps. The park’s open spaces and playground make it a nice place to take the kids for a play while you run. There is also outdoor gym equipment if you want to do some easily accessible strength training alongside your running.
