Dr Mark Scholes
B.Physio, Masters Sports Physio, PhD
Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist
Hi, I’m Mark.
I am highly trained and passionate about helping people manage musculoskeletal injuries, with a particular interest in hip and groin pain. As a titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, I treat a wide range of injuries in both athletes and non-athletes of all ages. My interest in hip and groin pain led me to complete my PhD in which I investigated the impact of hip joint structure and movement patterns on symptoms in people with hip and groin pain. You can access my thesis here.
Alongside working at Complete, I work as a post-doctoral researcher at La Trobe University, investigating treatments for people with long standing hip and knee pain, and have teaching positions at the University and with the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
Combined with my research and experience managing complex muscle and joint injuries, I am highly trained in managing adolescent athletes. I was the Dandenong Stingrays Football Club (AFL) physiotherapist from 2008-2017 and have seen thousands of junior and adolescent sporting injuries. This helped me to develop exceptional knowledge in age-related musculoskeletal changes and management of adolescent sports injuries.
Having dedicated myself to further study and understanding complex lower limb movement patterns, I pride myself on providing a thorough assessment of your injury and establishing the most effective rehabilitation program that is specific to you.
